The 2024 Meadow of Memories

This year, the remembrance daisies are handmade locally by the Men in Sheds in Collingham, with wood provided by Burghley Bespoke Interiors. These beautiful wooden flowers can be personalised to make them even more special and individual.

"The shed at Collingham were delighted to be asked to make 200 Daisies for the Children's Bereavement Centre at Newark, many members have turned their hand in the making of the flowers for such a worthwhile cause. The Shed wishes the CBC every success on their Fundraising day and look forward to attending on the day to see the daisies on display with the many memories written on the stem.  I know you will be generous with your donations to support all the hard work .

For those who may wish to know how they were made, the large petals were cut using a CNC (computer controlled) machine and the smaller ones were laser cut, each one is hand painted and the center turned on a lathe."

Donate for your daisy in memory of a loved one

You can make a donation for your own wooden daisy which will be included in our Meadow of Memories Exhibit on Saturday June 29th in the beautiful grounds of Newark Castle. It will sit alongside others who are honouring and celebrating the lives of the people they love and have lost.

This year's daisies can be personalised with a message, a drawing, a photo or a poem to make them even more special. So please visit the event where you be able to pick a daisy, make it even more personal by adding your own special message and replant it into the Meadow of Memories. You will then be able to return at the end of the day to take your daisy home to enjoy in your own home or garden or even give to someone as a special gift. .

As well as our Meadow of Memories Exhibit in the Castle Grounds we will also have an online meadow and both will include a Scroll of Remembrance which will include the names of all the people being remembered and honoured as part of our Daisy Appeal 2024
