  1. Events & Challenges

Events & Challenges

We are so grateful for all the support we receive from the many people who fundraise for us. Whether it’s the people who join in with one of the events we organise, take on one of our challenges, support our campaigns or even organise their own thing, they are all super heroes to us.

Our events include the hugely popular Dragon Boat Festival and for the first time this year we are holding a family sponsored walk.

We will once again be organising our Daisy Remembrance Campaign so keep your eyes peeled for our new beautiful daisies or you can get involved with our CBC Challenge 22 ....... an exciting campaign that involves you doing something for 22 minutes or 22 times, and you never know you might earn yourself the title of “The Ultimate CBCChallenge 22 Champion”

If you’re more of a thrill-seeker, then we have a whole host of challenges you can get involved in, the perfect opportunity to fundraise for us and have the experience of a lifetime! Whether you want to jump out of a plane, run a marathon, wing walk or even abseil down the side of the worlds tallest permanent abseil tower – we have just the event for you! Participating in a challenge will also allow you to push yourself to your own personal limits and experience an amazing sense of achievement.

However you decide you want to fundraise for us, we will help you in whatever way we can, whether it’s helping promote you via our social media in our Fundraising Friday Feature, designing posters and social media graphics, giving you pointers on writing a press release or cheering you on!

Plus, if you’d like to do something for us, but you aren’t sure what, then you can use our A to Z of fundraising ideas for inspiration!

If you are interested in fundraising for us please contact Rachel to discuss how you can get involved, she would love to hear from you.

Are your children taking part in our sponsored walk?

On Sunday, July 17th, the beautiful woodland trail in the grounds of Kelham Hall will be open for our sponsored walk.

The entry fee is £2.50 per child (under 12's) and we will be encouraging everyone that takes part to get sponsored with a target of £22.

You can choose to walk the 2.2KM route once, twice or 3 times, strolling through tree tunnels with views of the Victorian country house set in 44 acres of idyllic parkland beside the River Trent. The whole family can take part as the walk suits all ages and abilities and dogs are also welcome on a lead.

And that's not all!! To celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee there will be lots of royal related items to spot along the trail, with a small gift for the children that find all the clues and solve the puzzle.

How to enter the 2.2 KM sponsored walk -

- Register here sign up form

- Pay your £2.50 entry fee here

Children that hit their sponsorship target of £22 will be presented with a Quids 4 Kids medal.

Throughout the day you can enjoy live music, entertainment and children's activities including inflatables and face painting. And the parking is free!!

Bring a blanket and your own picnic or choose from food and drink from local suppliers including The Renaissance at Kelham Hall.

Would you like to take part in the old skool sports day?

Teams will compete against each other in classic sports day races, including potato and spoon race and tug of war. Who will be awarded the 2022 champion?!

Come and cheer on your friends & family or enter a team in the races. You can download your team entry form here

Proceeds from the Old Skool Sports Day element will be split between the Children's Bereavement Centre and Newark Round Table.
