We have a small staff team at the Children's Bereavement Centre but are able to continue to meet demand for the service thanks to our dedicated and skilled volunteer team. We have a variety of roles including Volunteer Administrators, Volunteer Fundraising Assistants, Community Volunteers and both 1:1 and Group Bereavement Volunteers. Our wonderful volunteers are even central to the delivery of our annual bereavement residential in the Peak District. We are so grateful to each and every one of them for tirelessly giving their time and enthusiasm so that we can support as many bereaved families as possible.
Some of our 1:1 Bereavement Volunteers are training to be counsellors and are completing their 100 hours placement with us. We aim to provide them and all of our volunteers with a range of training opportunities along with mentoring and support to ensure they have the best volunteering experience possible.
“It’s so worthwhile just knowing you can help out in a very small way”
"I absolutely love being involved with the volunteering and being with such brilliant and supportive people"
“The training offered before you start is very comprehensive and gives you the confidence you need to start volunteering”
