1:1 Volunteers

Our spring recruitment round for 1:1 Volunteers is now open! This position is available in Newark, Nottingham, Rushcliffe and Worksop. 

We have three levels of 1:1 volunteers:

  • 1:1 Volunteer Counsellors: qualified 
  • 1:1 Bereavement Volunteers: those on placement (Level 4 or above) 
  • 1:1 Volunteer Support Workers: entry level role for those who are qualified in other relevant fields e.g. Youth Workers, Teaching Assistants etc. 

The role will be a half day per week which will be a minimum of three appointments. Your appointments will be allocated based on level of experience. Expenses can be claimed towards mileage and supervision. We will provide an internal mentor and twice yearly volunteer gatherings for you to meet others in similar roles. Training is provided, including a safeguarding course. You will be required to complete a reflective journal in response to the training prior to supporting families. You will then need to complete a three month probation including an observation. You will require a DBS but we can arrange this if you don't have one. We do ask for a minimum of 12 months' commitment and this role is only suitable for over 21s.

Community Volunteers 

We have an exciting events calendar underway for 2024. Could you help? Whether it's cheering on runners, setting up stands or marshalling at events, we'd love to hear from you. This is a flexible role that you can enjoy on an ad hoc basis.
