David Blackmore

David is one of the Administration Volunteers at the Centre in Newark.

This I still do occasionally but I currently help out at the centre doing what is loosely called “admin”. I enter client information onto our database, answer the phone, meet and greeting clients, book initial appointments and many other activities too numerous to mention.

It can be very tough at times. Seeing some of the children on their first visit, nervous and sometimes scared. But then, on their last session, they are frequently smiling and happy and this is what makes the challenge totally worthwhile.  Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and to ‘give something back’
