After qualifying as a Social Worker, Caroline undertook a post graduate course in Non-Directive Play Therapy at York University and later gained a qualification in Filial Therapy. She has worked as a supervisor with Childline and as a play therapist with C.A.M.H.S, social care, schools, fostering and adoption agencies. Her direct work with children has centred on attachment, child abuse, bereavement and group work in schools with children experiencing loss or family change. Before retiring Caroline was a member of the British Association of Play Therapists and was an approved play therapy and filial therapy supervisor. She was initially engaged by the CBC over 10 years ago as a supervisor to their full time play therapist and on retiring she felt she wanted to continue to offer her clinical skills to the board of Trustees.
