Grief is a normal response to bereavement.  If you love someone, it is the emotional suffering you feel and the more significant the loss, the more intense the grief will be.  Children grieve too but may also struggle to understand or communicate their feelings at a time when parents and carers are coping with their own grief.

The Children's Bereavement Centre is a registered charity that provides free specialist support for children and young people aged 3 -18 years as well as their parents or carers who are affected by the death or terminal-illness of someone important to them.  We also provide guidance and training for professionals to enable them to better support children and families who are grieving.

We are a friendly, experienced and qualified team who are dedicated to ensuring families receive tailored support and guidance to help them cope with their grief.  Our services include both in-depth face-to-face therapeutic support and group activities in a welcoming, safe and confidential environment.

Families and professionals in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire can be referred for our services simply by completing a referral form available HERE and emailing or posting it to us.  Alternatively, you can call us for advice and guidance. CONTACT INFO.

When someone has died or is dying, it can feel overwhelming and can cause mental, physical and emotional issues for children, young people and their parents or carers.  We believe that every local family who needs additional support, deserves access to free, easily accessible specialist services at what is probably the most devastating time in their lives.

The Children's Bereavement Centre has been providing this support since the charity started in 2003 thanks to the generosity of trusts, companies, groups and individuals who donate to us and fundraise for us.  We are grateful to everyone involved with the charity, including volunteers, who enable us to meet an increasing demand for bereavement services and support over 800 children and their families every year.
